Late Night Carolina

Who We Are
Late Night Carolina is a student/staff committee that grants funding to student groups that are sponsoring late night social activities.

What We Do
Our goal is to increase the number and quality of late night student activities.  We can help student groups both fund and plan late night programs. The Late Night Carolina Committee includes many campus “experts” that give your group advice on how to execute a successful late night social program.

How Does This Work?
The application for funding is available on the web (link to application).  In order to be considered for funding, the application must meet all requirements (see below) and must be submitted by one of our deadlines (see below).  Even if the application meets all requirements, there is no guarantee that it will receive funding.

Requirements for Funding
Your event must meet/address all of the following criteria:

• The event must be free to all participants. No admission may be charged for the event.
• Groups may conduct fund-raising activities in relation to the event (ex. Sell t-shirts or refreshments) but the primary purpose of the event itself may not be fund-raising in nature.
• The event must be actively sponsored by at least two UNC-Chapel Hill officially recognized student groups.
• The event must be specifically targeted to and for other UNC-Chapel Hill students. The events must be accessible for all UNC-Chapel Hill students.
• The majority of the event must occur after 9:00 PM. The only exception to this rule will be for an event scheduled for April 27th, 2007, although such as event should extend into the latest hours of the evening.
• The event must follow all university policies for on campus events.

Your application must meet/address all of the following criteria.

• The application must be fully complete
• The application must show evidence of comprehensive planning on the part of the sponsoring organizations, including an action plan with timeline as well as a budget and marketing plans.

Timeline for Submitting Applications
To allow for adequate planning on your group’s part and to allow for adequate time to review applications, please use the following timetable in submitting applications.

Applications must be received by 12:00 noon on 2/5/07, 3/5/07, and 4/2/07 and will be considered on a rolling basis prior to the date of your scheduled event.

No late applications will be considered.
